Medical
The Medical Director is an addictionologist who is also a psychiatrist and supervises a staff comprised of other physicians and registered nurses. At admission, the staff evaluates the physical condition of the guest (patients at Fellowship Hall are our guests) and detoxification needs are assessed. Detoxification protocols insure safe withdrawal without over sedation.

The physical manifestations of alcohol/chemical dependence are described in orientation classes. Attention is given first to the physical problems related to the disease of alcoholism/addiction. The physical condition is monitored throughout treatment, and a discharge summary is sent to the private physician if the guest requests it. The guest is encouraged to assume responsibility for continuing his/her own health maintenance after discharge. Included in this responsibility is the knowledge that to take any mind-altering medications, either prescription or over-the-counter, would be dangerous to recovery.
