One-day Family Education Program
It Takes a Village
When the community in which the family of an alcoholic or addict lives and works is armed with accurate information about the disease of addiction, they are better equipped to offer support for both the family, and their loved one who is struggling with substance use disorder. Community members, from clergy and other spiritual advisers, to co-workers and neighbors, law enforcement officers and doctors, are in a unique position to provide a base of support that could be the pivotal to a successful and sustained recovery.
The One-day Family Education Program is designed for family, friends, coworkers, and community members who are interested in learning about the impact that the disease of addiction has on every relationship, however close or seemingly removed. Through lectures and facilitated group discussions, participants receive in-depth education about substance use disorder and for those who are directly impacted, the skills to define their own needs in the recovery process. The One-day Family Education Program is held on the first Friday of each month at a cost of $70 per person.
Family members of guests in our Daytime Intensive Outpatient Program are encouraged to attend this seminar.
